my best guy friend from high school, dixon, got married on wednesday. he has always been a smart kid, but tricking shay into marrying him was his finest moment yet!! she's way too beautiful for him :)
mike. richard. trevor. tyler.
these are the best men in the world. if dixon was in the picture it would be the complete group of the strongest, funniest, best, truest, most wonderful, intoxicatingly fabulous group of men i've ever known. it is not an exaggeration to say i love them more than anything else. i laughed almost continuously for an entire day just being with them. i am so lucky. really. (i get choked up.)
it helps i got the best lookin' one, too :)
although sharing the same biological beginnings, we are not that alike.
melissa is the cleverest of women. if she went to hogwarts, she'd be in ravenclaw bc her brain is just so sharp. although she has loyalty and all that mumbo jumbo akin to one miss hermoine granger, she'd probably pick ravenclaw.
she's the mother of 3.
one, mister matthew gibson smith who is a rather busy, nigh uncatchable, and rather brilliant child, and two and three
evelyn lillieth and maren sophia smith,
the twinnies- future catchableness not yet known.
if you don't know her, you should, if you need someone to tell a secret, she's your gal, and if you need to know ANY information at all she may have accumulated in the last 30 years, i'm sure she can pull it out.for instance:
the show on bravo with jonathan the hair dresser we watched like 3 summers ago:
blow out
need a text in the middle of the day from some random chick flick?"He ran Spain."
or if you just need a couch to sit on, some cereal to eat or someone nice to listen to you whine even though she has problems of her own,a sister melissa is a very useful thing to have.
blinded
cause when i see you, its like i'm staring down the sun
i'm blinded, there's nothing left to do
cause when i see you...

i know ive been posting like crazy lately(lets face it im addicted) but sometimes you just need to document your life. its like on shall we dance(uber romantic). the wife says that in a marriage you are validating each others lives. to witness the mundane the exciting the good the bad; you choose to be a witness for someone else's life. i have many witnesses. no husbands(still taking applications) but definitely friends family and loved ones. a few of my very close friends are getting married this summer, or close to. (ha you know who you are) once i got past the crying after each in turn told me the good news(all happy tears promise!) i realized how excited i am to pass the torch of witnessing their lives as a close friend to their companions. its amazing, too, to see how as i metaphorically let go of this responsibility, someone, or in my case, someone(s) have come into my life to take their place! i finally feel more at home in sin city, there are actually people here watching, validating, and witnessing MY life! maybe its more exciting for me, though, to be the witness. i am a passionate lover of my friends(nigh unto mamma bear) and fill my heart and life with them. i am so grateful.
conclusion: love someone today(physically emotionally spiritually). tell them you love them.
morning from hades.
lenzi(damsel in distress): so maybe you should sneak out of here and buy me a starbucks.
lindsey(hero of this anecdote): grabs purse. returns less than 10 later.

an ode to women:
anyone who knows me knows i don't really love women. their gossip, their drama, their dating, their crying. i've never been one to be surrounded by lots of "girlfriends." i have one or two at a time and its suites me just fine. in the last year or two of my life, it seems, tho, its turning around!! a lifetime of disgruntled thoughts towards the members of my fellow sex is fading!! hooray!
-i have one lifetime girlfriend. laura. literally in sunbeams @ church together at age 3 and i have no recollection of life without her.
-i have one girlfriend from highschool. kelli. so alike and so opposite. the reason we probably get along is bc we just can't do without each other at this point. and why would i want to?
-i lived in an apartment at college with 6 girls. jana jamie jen reily camille & me. i love them. i'm not sure what possessed me to live with that much estrogen in the first place, but it was the best.
-jamie jayne anne. they put up with me. we don't talk all the time. maybe sometimes we're not as close. but i KNOW without a doubt each of them came into my life on purpose.
-i hang out with girls. i actually call them on the weekends to hang out. meredith was essentially my "date" for Mamma Mia.
-i work with almost all women. i ACTUALLY like roxann & lenzi, etc etc etc... this is more of a feat than you may know.
-girls have picnics. meredith raime & i actually PLANNED to hang out. in advance.
-i am now the proud aunt of 4 neices in a row. kaylaigh mae rachel abigail evelyn lillieth maren sophia. so much pink. so many small bows.
-i have 1 sister and 3 sister in laws. the women of our family just became full. my sister melissa is my bestfriend, pantry, and tv show updater.
i guess i just feel the need to shout out to the women in my life. i do a lot more crying now than i think i have in my whole life. i cry when i'm happy. why my body does this, we have no idea. i wear heels and jeans. yes i do. i like big earrings and babies, have ovaries, am finally growing into only wanting one boy at a time, and definately am proud to be a woman... most days ;)
thank goodness for friends and roommates with connections!! a bunch of us got dolled up and went to a free show this weekend!! i mean, i sing and dance all the time anyway, and it was impossible to hold still with ABBA playing, men in wetsuits running around, and women in platform shoes singing and dancing! it was so fun and just so relaxed. i have had ABBA in my head all day!! between the dancing, singing, indiscreetly hilarious sexual references, heels, jeans, big earrings, valet(wait... no they wouldn't let us valet LOL), the clubbing(wait no , we walked passed the club...), and the food(Meredith's snack bags lol) it was a night to remember. ah, vegas... see that girl, watch that scene, dig in the dancing queen...
