1. wake up late. i never wake up late. i got my lazy butt out of bed at 10 AM and it was FABULOUS. i don't remember the last time i slept that long, without waking up & forcing myself to go back to sleep. nope! yesterday i just slept like a baby straight through... it was MUCH needed. good sleep= not grumpy. :)

2. watch a HILARIOUS and AMAZING video of "le cruise" made by the fabulous dre filio. i didn't wish i was on the cruise boat, but i wished i was in all the fabulous pictures in orgeon & canada bc it's just so pretty. :) i wished i had the video soundtrack on my computer so i could listen to it all day, and i love being in the company of seriously cool people, even if i only know them in varying degrees!
this picture looks familiar.... wait..... cool awesome people in amazing places all together...

3. and a MUST: stay up into the wee wee hours talking & laughing until your stomach hurts, till your eyes won't stay open, and your heart is full with your favorite person in the whole world. he's snuggly, silly and doesn't mind when i ruin his $3 white t-shirts with mascara:(cruise photo credits to jeff brown & dre)

they're called heely's. at for a STEAL at ross ($13 bucks!! brad paid $40 for his) they're MINE.
i heely-ed around brad's house for an hour. we have big plans to go to disneyland asap.
we'll be there-10 year olds at heart.

making friends with cool chicks from denmark, bike riding, 17th street deli, nap on a couch, dirty feet covered in sand, warm sun, cool breeze, cute boy...

i'd say exactly there is the happiest place on earth.
and the best day i've ever had off work. ever.

this morning i drove merzy & el jefe & bradleyjbarttels to the long beach port to leave me for 7 days and go cruzing to canadia.
they were supposed to go to me-hee-co, but then the piggy flu made them reroute. i wasn't jealous when they were going DOWN the coast, but i REALLY am jealous now bc i've always wanted to go to BC, Canada.

this morning i walked through a spider web knowingly.
oh, i saw it.
i inspected it for octo-legged vermin, decided i still needed to walk through this space, took a deep breath and went for it, arms flailing in front of me.

course then i got all squeamish and had to rub down my body to make sure it wasn't all stuck there or some little arachnid hadn't held on at the last minute.

NO SERIOUSLY. this is a HUGE feat. i scream and run and jump and am afraid of spiders roughly the size of a pinhead.
perhaps it has something to do with the large wolf spiders i grew up finding in our garage. *SHUDDER*
or the fact that the average spider runs faster than me. and usually not from me, but AT me. or the big butted black widows, or the bonus feature of living in las vegas- brown recluse- it'll KILL ya whilst having your arm rot from the inside out... lovely.

or maybe it was when my brothers sat on me on the couch so i had to watch arachnophobia when i was like 8.

its kinda hard to clean and move someone in with your dishes and food in the kitchen still.

jason cloud and i have now been friends for 4 years. he liked my glasses, and i liked my first taste of coppermill rolls. i was math stats composite, he a stats math dual major. a friendship made in mathematical friendship heaven. add a piano, a little LFO, Mana, off roading, the same college apartment complex, facebook and blogging and you've got one smart, fab friend.i skipped out of logan as fast as my feet could carry and got a job in financial planning, and jason squall chose to do something with his degree- go to grad school. ;)

How to Survive 4 Days in 1999....

this week i had the sublime opportunity to be cell phone free. seriously. as in mobile phone device-less.

sunday i was annoyed, monday had separation anxiety, tuesday i was a-okay and by wednesday i was loving the freedom!

how and why you CAN survive without a cell phone!!

if you feel like you will miss things and be disconnected to people because of your lack of phonage- get facebook, myspace, twitter, email, or gchat. you will miss very little. (unless you are at your bf's house and he is at yours at the same time. in which case, yes, you will miss each other.)
if you are feeling unloved and unconnected, call or text all your family and friends, then turn your phone off for 4 days. when you turn it on again will have many a text and voicemail and you will feel SO popular. "popular, i know about pop-u-lar."
it is imperative that you make your messages clear and concise when sending them through another person. you may end up with a train wreck like that whispering game. you may think you are telling them to convey the message of "meet at my house by the garage at 9:30" and end up with "i'm eating mouse for dinner at 6. and purple cabbage."
embrace your new found freedom. run with it. revel in the fact that when you drive home from work if you get a flat tire, run out of gas or get in an accident, there is NO way for you to get hold of someone. don't worry if your sister just had a baby, i'm sure she knows you love her if you don't call for 4 days. BUT best of all, if you want to be left in PEACE- no ward mass text messages, no drama, and just the lovely sound of your own music playing in your head- trust me. lose your phone. you'll love it. :)

First order of business. Lent was over at 12:00 AM so NATURALLY we made chocolate chip cookies(my favorite) at 11:45 PM so I could eat my fix of chocolate as soon as I could!! And it was DELICIOUS. Warm crispy on outside, soft inside, melty sweet goodness right out of the oven with a glass of milk... heaven.

I have to say, this Lent was a test of my self control and I think I'm my own hero! No chocolate for 40 days was HARD bc it's in everything and everywhere, and VERY hard to avoid, but I DID IT!!!

And then I proceeded to eat some junk and candy given to me at church with chocolate and to be honest... I'm over it. It just doesn't taste that good!! And it kinda made me sick. I'm thrilled I can eat my fav cookie again, but I think the mini Kit Kat's and Oreos and definitely not going to be a staple dessert anymore. Give me apple pie anytime. :)

talk about religion for 45 min waiting for OTHER guy to come with other keys.

get into office an hour and ten min later.
phone rings about 100 times. have a ton to do.
boss calls says i can go home at noon. WOOT!
finish up and finally leave @ 12:45.

get home. cook lunch. look at pics from europe.
take an hour nap.
go on hour walk.
relax and talk to my roommate.
clean room. do dishes. and it's not even 5 yet!

get all showered and cute with cute new FREE pants.
go on a REAL double date.

i love Good Friday.

and i didn't even eat any meat!! ;) wink.

Well the last couple weeks I have had NOTHING to complain about. I LOVE my life!! :) So naturally when everything is going just splendidly I always assume in a week or so something will happen to make it all come crashing down.

These two lovely dark haired beauties have been a constant source of crazy, silly, happy, fun, supportive, spiritual and patient love for the last 6 months and have truly made HB my home.

But all good things must come to an end and May 1st we are all moving and shuffling to other places.

yesterday on my lunch i went to the store and purchased some produce & schtuff to keep at work for healthy snacks. apples. grapes. string cheese. pretzels.

today i pulled out the grapes. they are HUGE. and look SOOOOOOOO good.

do you ever feel like you are just so different than everyone around you?? i just feel so odd-out sometimes. and why does everyone think that you should like & want to do everything else everyone else does??

like apparantly i'm the only single person who DOESN'T want to be proposed to in front of 17,000 people at a concert (like that chick @ rascal flatts on saturday. great concert, btw.). when i said so, INVARIABLY everyone said "yeah, you do! you'd love it!"
actually, no. i wouldn't. at all. i'd hate it.

i hate clubbing. i got over the wanting-to-be-close-to-other-people's-sweat-thing like at 17.

i don't like sleeping in on a saturday, no matter how late i stayed up.

i don't like how flowers smell. i think they stink. and going along with that, i hate smelly lotions, sprays perfumes, deodorants, etc. aveeno natural scent-free all the way. when people say "doesn't this smell so good!?" & shove lotion or a candle in my face and i reply with "yep!" I'M LYING.

i don't actually enjoy watching tv. not really at all. i do it to be social & cuddle, but i'd rather be reading a book or cooking or out for a walk or bike ride or just talking or anything else.

i've never seen an episode of the bachelor or bachelorette and never intend to. if you want to watch drama in dating unfold- go to a single's ward. ;)

you know what i like about meredith? that she's funny. and smart. and rather clever with words. and that in the middle of the night, when she needs to talk, she's not too shy to come over and climb right into the covers with me and just hash it out. she and i love a good period peice and stomp out the sidewalks around memphis & adams on a regular basis, walking & talking to our hearts content. if i could create a mantra for merz, it would be

when we worked at leavitt, merzy & i had a daily routine. everyday we would email 5 good things about our day, and the other would reply with their 5 things. this was ESPECIALLY necessary when it seemed to be a day when there was NOTHING good. some days required 10 things to prove our gratitude to the heavens and othertimes, the day was just so filled with lovely things that 5 just wasn't enough!! :)

my 5 things:
1. i have a great job & job security. i'm VERY lucky.
2. my two legs love to walk around HB everyday enjoying the crisp ocean air.
3. brad makes me laugh- whether the joke is actually funny or i'm just laughing at him, there's ne'er a day that goes by without multiple giggles. for example, he bought a energy drink on "clearance" this morning- shouldn't that be an indicator of why you should NOT drink it- and spent his next appointment shaking like a drug addict on withdrawal. he was trying to point to prices on a piece of paper and his hand couldn't stop moving! no WONDER she said "no!" when he asked to use the restroom... she probably figured he needed to shoot up! BAHA!
4. my boss has been out at appointments all day, which means my pandora radio has been gleefully playing at my desk a little louder than usual. (try "Tristan Prettyman" radio. it's lovely!)

this little person woke me up this morning.
hoooray!!!!! someday i may rue the day little voices wake me before 8 on a saturday. not so today :)
then todd, shelly, rachel and me & brad headed up to the Getty museum. it was a BEAUTIFUL day! Lots of good stuff to see and plenty of illegal pictures to take. (none shall be posted.)

i'm giving up chocolate (i didn't have any in january, but cheated in february, so i'm back on the band wagon) and fasting my time everyday so i WILL EXERCISE everyday for lent. even if it's riding my bike to someone's house instead of driving or 50 crunches, i'm going to do something everyday.

i used to be a very avid concert goer. all the time. anyone i could see. but then somewhere along the lines i decided music was becoming an obsession and i should put a lil moderation on that. so with the slowing of all my downloading & buying & sharing music, naturally the concert going slowed down, too.

BUT...last night we went to see Joshua Radin.
i love him. he's very chill and relaxing. and happy. and i basically think it was one of my favorite concerts ever. he's just SO great live!! it helps he is muy attractivo & looks like this:THEN... just little someone named INGRID MICHAELSON (woot woot) came out to sing with him on a song & it was SO cool to see her live, too!!
THEN as if I couldn't be happier... THIS lady came out to sing a song with him:
and since i was the only person amongst the 20 people in our group who knew her, i had to have a moment to myself!! i was flippin out. oh maria taylor. i LOVE HER.

if you know me well. you know how much i hate shopping deep down inside my heart. for anything besides socks & sweaters, really. this is just another log to add to the fire....

let me make this perfectly clear: i HATE norstroms. HATE it.

i don't care what you say, it is NOT the best store, and although they have *supposedly* great customer service i have never found their products nor service to be of any acclaim.

let me illustrate:

behold: the curse of the nordstrom's pant suit!!

let me break this down for you:
Last weekend November 08: go to the-store-who-shall-not-be-named in LV and purchase pants & a coordinating suit jacket for OUTRAGEOUS price. receive help from a kind but middle-aged, fashion-clueless, and only somewhat-helpful woman named something like "bonita" or "betty."

December 08: 2.5 WEEKS later i receive pants after tailoring; after they assured me they would arrive in ONE week. only to discover they are tailored about an INCH too short and BONUS you can actually SEE the stiching on the front of the pants where i had them pin & remove the space left for some kind of child-bearing pouch & poochiness.
i wear them anyway for a week bc i have client's coming in the office.

Jan 09: Bring back to TSWSNBN in CA. HIDEOUS, RUDE, middle-younger-middle-aged woman "helps" me when i bring them back to redo the tailoring i paid for. leave store very angry.

2 days later go back to pick them up & i tell the nice looking young saleswoman i am there to pick up pants i just had tailored. (with a nice attitude & smile bc its not THIS girl's fault...)LITERALLY she picks them up & hands them to me without a word but sorta smiles. NOT ONE word. (i think to "myself... okay.. weird. whatever. at least she smiled.")

Today February 09: about to burn TSWSNBN. stupid stupid pants. the ENTIRE left leg hem has just come undone while i'm a work. my pants are now being secured at their desired length by PACKING TAPE. and... BONUS! the lining on the RIGHT leg has come unsecured and is now causing a weird pull on the one side which makes me pant leg not hang straight.

i have a 2.6 million dollar client i talk to about everyday, coming in TODAY after lunch.

DILEMMA:

do i DARE go back into TSWSNBN and have them redo all the problems?

do i demand an entire NEW pair of pants, only to wait for 2 weeks for them to be hemmed AGAIN?

or do i hem them myself at home bc i'm so en-angered?

stupid pants from TSWSNBN. curses.

I have been wanting and looking, wishin' and hopin', for a new bedspread to make my room a little more complete and retire the FABULOUS spread my mom made for me when I was a senior in high school. That spread was the best thing ever and made college and thereafter a bit more exciting and vibrant. However, I wanted somethin' a lil' different, and my budget and pickiness (me? Picky?? NEVER.) made it a little bit harder to pick. And with BROWN and green being so popular and all my stuff being BLACK and green, it made it a little frustrating.
HOWEVER, VOILA!!!!
Thanks to HomeGoods and little bit of creativity on my part (*bows* thank you, thank you) we have... THE NEW BEDSPREAD!!!! Woot woot!!
I need to find one or two more throw pillows- maybe I'll make them... but then it'll be a lil' more complete!! HOORAY!!

the bathroom on my floor at work is locked. so each office has keys to get in, but prevents random people from using it. very nice.

everytime a client or someone not from our office asks for the key, i imagine that they are sneaky spies and will pull out one of those putty things as soon as i'm out of eyeshot and take a print of the key to copy & use later to sneak in the bathroom and pull off some amazing and fabulous secret heist involving secret and secure information and then the cops will figure out it was ME and my giving of the key who allowed it all to happen!!!

or i imagine i'm the the one copying the key for some incredible reason involving millions of dollars and tight black shiney pants. anderson, lindsey anderson. 008.

last time i broke my camera it was bc of an unfortunate accident including water and my friend brakell. no warranty. purchased new camera.

so 5 months later i was at brakell's wedding and my camera is now broken due to an unfortunate accident including a nice stranger who agreed to take our picture and butter fingers. purchased warranty. WOOP WOOP.

so while best buy is taking care of business ("every day!") i shall have no pictures to post. none of me & b-rad at blue man having a wicked awesome time, no pictures of cute small children, and no pics of hanging out in vegas with brighton & juston, and DEFINITELY no pictures of brakell ever bc she's bad luck with my cameras.

every kid likes pb & j, almondb & j for a few of you allergic to ground nuts. everyone has their own way of making it: toasted, not toasted, more pb, more jelly, even of both, jam or jelly, crunchy, smooth, cut uncut... the list goes on.
BUT i confess, pb & j's closest cousin, pb & h, is really my preference.
everyday for over a week now, i've lovingly spread, drizzled & consumed. each day i bring my lunch tote(see cute black & white polka dots in upper left corner) with a jar of pb & super ultra large cheap bottle of honey. i put two slices of bread (today i ate a heel, though) into a sandwhich bag each morning, and one packet of echinacea tea-now the honey serves two purposes (yes, wendy, "devine porpoises").
delish.
sweet. savory. not too sweet, natural sugars. gets stuck in your teeth.
and yes, i must bring both jars. if you know anything about pb & h, you know you can't make it ahead of time. it's best fresh.

I love having 4 eyes.

In my case, since now I have TWO pairs of bomb glasses, I guess technically I have 6 eyes. Course... then we could count my old glasses, which I can still mostly see out of, and we're up to 8. Sunglasses... ten..?

FIRST: We have the Black/Orange DKNY's. Part plastic, part metal. Lot's of nice features: Orange accents on ear piece and inside the eyepieces. Notice the nice 2 prongs of the eye piece, how it leaves a nice space, so you can look at my eye.. even from the side...
These are the fun version of professional. Party in the back, all business up front.SECOND: Here come the VOGUE tortoise-shell plastic beauts. Featuring the wider earpiece masquerading as a skinny earpiece, with clear plastic features on the top & bottom. Light & square. Lovely. I have recently discovered that this medicine is the BEST. It works fast. It goes straight to the blood stream. It causes relief of nasal congestion, cough, sore throat. Tastes of citrus goodness. MIRACLE.

HOWEVER:

It also causes Lindsey to become a monster. Not only have I been short tempered at work while under the influence, I also may have told someone I care about that something important THEY care about was about as interesting to me as professional hockey or Southpark.

OOPS.

Don't worry, it didn't go over so well. In fact, not well at all.

Okay so I'm not making excuses here, I was under the influence! So what if I take your priorities and smash them in your face? Who cares whether I act like the world revolves around me when I have a cold and lost my voice for 2 days and I suddenly feel the need to lash out for attention?

"Ryan" was/is an auditor.
My brother is an auditor. The only one I've ever met which had a personality.
One of my favorite movies is Stranger than Fiction- Howard Crick is an auditor.

Cute, young, single auditor came to my office yesterday and nearly gave me a heart attack by asking me lots of questions I didn't know, asked me to find files I didn't know existed, and caused my stress levels to reach Mars. Then he was a lot less cute, and a lot more gray.

Luckily I survived.
And then I stayed in bed with a cold all the next day. :)

jamie crane has saved my life many times in 3 years, and is the person i look to for the most spiritual strength and genuine character outside of my mom & sister. she's going on a mission... and i confess when she told me for sure her papers were done & going in i just got off the phone & had a little cry. ugh why do people i love & want to be close to forever always leave me FOREVER??
Well at least she came to visit for 4 days and i haven't felt SO GRATEFUL for the friends i've been blessed!! It was amazing. Not only did she sing with my in church, she also made me laugh harder and smile more than ever!! :)
